The Film, the Book, the People

The Film: The September Issue

I don't know about you all, but I am THRILLED for the 'September Issue' documentary feature film!!! For those who doesn't know what it's about, it's basically about the legendary Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her larger-than-life team of editors creating the September issue (which is the most important issue) and ruling the world of fashion. Directed by R.J. Cutler, this film will get you the full inside scoop of Vogue. Don't miss it!

P.S. The September 2007 issue of Vogue magazine weighed nearly five pounds, and was the single largest issue of a magazine ever published.

The Books:
The Teen Vogue Handbook

This October, Teen Vogue will grant budding stylistas an all-access pass into the high profile and glamorous world of fashion in The Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider’s Guide to Careers in Fashion. With superb photos, interviews with industry icons such as Marc Jacobs, Bruce Weber and Patrick Demarchelier, and six sections that include information from editors and assistants, the handbook will serve as the link between the style conscious girl and the seemingly impenetrable fashion world.

I really hope it'll be released in Asia soon cos I can't wait to get my hands on that book!

Who What Wear

The first book from WhoWhatWear Cofounders Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power, Who What Wear: Celebrity and Runway Style for Real Life features style advice and 60 full-color photographs. Fashion neophyte or seasoned stylista, every woman should read this book.

The Sartorialist

For those of you who claim to know fashion but don't know who Scott Schuman is, you better google the man because he is one of the most influencing people in the fashion blog & street photography world.

Here's a little description of the book:
The Sartorialist shows up with some new images of his forthcoming photos book, “The Sartorialist.” It’s a labor of love for this street photographer who has happily documented the moving world of fashion from New York to Paris and beyond.
“This has been a labor of love. Taking the pictures, editing the pictures, arranging the pictures, doing most of the writing while I was still in Phoenix after my Dad died. It’s hard to put into words how one feels looking at their own work presented like this – so I won’t even try.”- Scott Schuman.

Ah, brilliant man! Hoping to see him snap some photos in Asia :-D
