A thing called Shoes

Choosing Shoes

by Frida Wolfe

New shoes, new shoes,
Red and pink and blue shoes.
Tell me, what would you choose,
If they'd let us buy?

Buckle shoes, bow shoes,
Pretty pointy-toe shoes,
Strappy, cappy low shoes;
Let's have some to try.

Bright shoes, white shoes,
Dandy-dance-by-night shoes,
Perhaps-a-little-tight shoes,
Like some? So would I.

BUT
Flat shoes, fat shoes,
Stump-along-like-that shoes,
Wipe-them-on-the-mat shoes,
That's the sort they'll buy.

I know this is out of the blue, but I felt like making a post on something that almost all women share an interest for, which is shoes! This will mostly be pictures as I'm not in the mood to write :p

all of the photos above belong to The Selby

This post won't be complete without talking a little about well-known blogger, Jane Aldridge and her passion for shoes!

Jane is probably my number 1 inspiration that got me to start a blog. Yes I've come across several amazing blogs but for a lot of reasons I still consider her blog the freshest and most interesting one. So that's why I'd like to share my fascination with you people :)

Her designs for Urban Outfitters

They all look fantastic!

Posing in front of her shoes

I bet soon you'll be begging at someone to buy you new shoes hehe. Oh and here are some photos of what I consider her coolest shoes:

Bruno Frisoni shoes

Silver brogues by Yohji Yamamoto

Chanel bow-ties

Miu Miu dragonfly pumps

my other favorites..

YSL

Comme des Garcons

Biba

Louboutin

a closer look at her shoe collection. Jaw-dropping!

As Carrie Bradshaw once said,

"No please, don't get me a diamond.. just get me a really big closet"

(instead) for the shoe lovers out there, it's probably:

"No please, don't get me a diamond.. just get me tons of expensive shoes. But I'm gonna be needing a really big closet too to put all those shoes in it"

;-*

All of those photos are taken from google and her blog www.seaofshoes.typepad.com

Fashion Muse: Ghea and Nina Priatna

Good day readers!

It's been quite some time since I last posted an article for the Fashion Muse category. Let me assure you though, it's worth the wait hehe. You'll soon discover why :-)

This post is doubly special because instead of only featuring one fashion muse, this time I thought why not make it two? That's when I realized Ghea and Nina Priatna are the perfect people to represent this idea! So..

Say hi to ghea!
Ghea portrays a ballerina in this black tutu-like
skirt worn with black tights

Looking elegant in a traditional Kebaya

Working it at Nisa Riphat's fashion show

The coat, the skirt, the bag--
perfection!

The Fashionable duo

a natural beauty

and now, meet Nina!

Nina dons a fabulous black coat and makes it interesting
by adding an animal print scarf and a cute white bean hat

Navy blue blazer, jeans and a watch--
simple, yet she still manages to look so chic!

flower-patterned tops are
never out of style

a magnificent coat is a great fashion
statement during the chilly winter season

Skirts and flat shoes are the perfect combination
for the summer

The sisters look ravishing in
colorful printed dresses

Aren't they just the prettiest siblings?

Oh and check out a picture of ghea, nina and I when we were so teeny:

Hahaha our old ballet days in Morocco

Big thanks to the Priatnas for allowing me to use their awesome photos.
If you know anyone who's worthy to be the next fashion muse in my blog, please do let me know. Comments are very much appreciated. Thanks!

What's her name?

First and foremost, I'd like to wish you all a happy new year! I still can't believe it's 2010, time really flies eh? I gotta tell you, I don't really like the beginnings of new years. Why? Well mainly because it reminds me of the fact that I'm getting older each year and I hate that. The bright side is that I'm not the only one :p

For this month's post, I thought I'd post some fantastic photos of women who are involved in the fashion industry. I am in love with how they wore their clothes and mixed it up with bold accessories. Photographers and bloggers constantly prey on them, such as The Sartorialist and Jak&Jil.

For the Spring 2010 trends, I've been so crazed by the clean colors strutted by the models on the runway. I think it's one of the softest colors for this year.

Before I end my post, there's one more thing I'd like to show you all. It's from one of the fashion spreads in Teen Vogue titled 'Fashion Cliques' and there's one that really caught my eyes.

Masculinity is so appealing! Which reminds me that I need to get myself a pair of harem pants and a cool pair of loafers. Save up save up!
